Empowering Immigration Services Through Technology
Immigration Professionals Must Embrace Advanced Technology
The demographic profile of immigrants has changed significantly in recent years. Today, more young immigrants are arriving, and many no longer come through investor programs or with substantial wealth. Instead, they are everyday individuals with limited budgets. As a result, the average budget per immigration case has decreased, and traditional high-cost services are no longer sustainable for many clients. At the same time, the need for high-quality legal immigration services remains strong. In a field where every minute counts as a cost, immigration professionals must adopt advanced IT tools to improve efficiency and continue delivering reliable, affordable support.
Efficient Tech Use Requires Upfront Effort
Automation tools and AI have advanced significantly in recent years, making them more accessible and user-friendly for end users. However, using these tools effectively still requires upfront effort. This includes preparing structured data for automation and designing workflows that can run smoothly. With thoughtful setup, these technologies can deliver major long-term efficiency gains.
Building a Shared Open Data Platform
In the immigration field, many professionals rely on the same publicly available data—much of it provided freely by the government. The abundance of transparent information is something our country can take pride in. However, this data is often not in a machine-readable format by default. As a result, many engineers (or tech-savvy professionals) who want to make a small automation end up performing large tasks to restructure and clean the same datasets, leading to unnecessary duplication of effort. To prevent this repeated “reinvention of the wheel,” we decided to create an open-source data infrastructure that everyone in the industry can use and build upon.
